Testimonials

See what families love about us.

Hear from families who cherish the Elements Workspace experience. Our community shares stories of growth, creativity, and the supportive relationships that make our center feel like home.
"Elements Workspace has been an incredible experience for our family. From the start, we were drawn to its welcoming environment, and it has been amazing to see my daughter’s growth, independence, and excitement about learning and connecting with everyone there. She especially loves exploring during nature hours, which has become a highlight of her time at Elements. I highly recommend Elements Workspace to other families. It’s not just a place where your child will love to go—it’s a warm, loving community where children can learn and grow in a child-led environment. It truly feels like a family, and the experience has inspired my daughter to keep learning with enthusiasm and joy."
Vania
"At Elements Workspace, you can feel at ease knowing your child is in a safe and nurturing environment. There is a special warm atmosphere where children feel comfortable and supported in a friendly community. My child is homeschooled, and Elements Workspace provides him with the opportunity to interact with other children. He speaks Russian, and now he has the chance to communicate with English-speaking children. He has started speaking English more confidently. He has also learned to handle losing in games more gracefully and is improving in managing his emotions. I would recommend Elements Workspace to other parents. Your child will receive individual attention and care here. "
Svitlana
"Elements Workspace is great coop option close to home with a great group of kids and class leaders. The friendships and the time they get to spend being creative and being outdoors is one of the most meaningful experiences for us. My daughter comes home with lots of excitement and joy. Elements is unique as it offers small group, time outdoors at park and nature trails, creative exploration, and a home family-like atmosphere. We love getting all the great pics and videos of the class in action. It’s a great group for socializing and being creative and enjoying the indoors and outdoors."
Dad to A
"Elements workspace is a great place, my daughter loves going there. She brings home her crafts and stories about the day. I love picture updates on what they're doing. Teachers are supportive and creative, they value and respect the uniqueness of each child. I have noticed improvement in my child's social skills with English speaking children. The most impactful aspect of our experience has been seeing my child grow."
Marina
"Elements has a very homey atmosphere that makes you feel welcomed immediately. My son loves coming every week and always looks forward to it. He has grown, matured and found a lot of things he loves there -- his interest in geography started at Elements. The changes I have seen in my son due to Elements is how he deals with his sibling; he is more patient. The guides at Elements treat my child like their own. How they handle interpersonal conflict has definitely helped my child mature. If you join Elements, your child won't want to come home!"
Mom to J
"I was looking for a special place for my daughter where she would feel safe, comfortable, and at the same time fun and educational. Their individual approach to each child and the family-like atmosphere make it a unique place. Elements Workspace creates the environment where every child can express himself and be heard. Now in our second year here, my daughter has become more independent and knowledgeable. The knowledge of fact that my daughter is in good hands and taken care of every second of being there, makes it a meaningful experience for our family."
Maria
"Loving open ended environment, child led growing and exploring. The most meaningful experience has been seeing her build relationships with the other kids. Her vocabulary and love for learning is growing. Give it a try!"

Learning Guides

About the Learning Guides

Our Learning Guides connect children with knowledge instead of being the source—creating rich environments while honoring each child's natural curiosity. They support rather than direct exploration, removing obstacles and providing genuine experiences while trusting children to pursue their own interests. This approach builds independent, confident learners who develop a lifelong love of discovery.

What is the Elements Workspace Homeschool Hybrid program?

The Homeschool Hybrid program at Elements Workspace is an opportunity for local homeschoolers ages 3-6 to enrich their homeschooling experience in a social, community-based way. Participants join 2-3 full days a week in person at our learning center which is uniquely situated in the quiet and nature-rich neighborhood of Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn. Our 1,300 sqft space is inspired by our child-led philosophy and outfitted with a mix of traditional Montessori as well as our own thoughtfully-curated materials. Our intention is to support each participating child (the "learner") with their growth as thoughtful, kind, curious, independent, creative humans with a sense of community.

How many learners are in the group?

A maximum of ten learners participate in the Homeschool Hybrid program at one time.

À La Carte classes range in size from five to ten learners per class.

What is the cost?

Two days a week Homeschool Hybrid: $920/month
Three days a week Homeschool Hybrid: $1,300/month (a 6% discount)
À La Carte classes: $20-35/hour depending on the class

Sibling discounts are available.

How do you ensure individualized attention?

We get to know each other! Our core philosophy is that each child has unique needs, interests, questions, and developmental journey. Our Montessori-inspired environment is designed to accommodate learners at various stages of readiness. Additionally, as our learning guides spend time with and get to know each child, they work to offer materials, learning prompts and opportunities that respond to that learner’s interest. Both in group and individual work, each child is challenged to explore areas of interest to them specifically. In order for us to be truly “child-led,” a careful and intentional observation of each child is foundational.

How many days a week is the program?

The Homeschool Hybrid program operates Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9am-3pm. Participants can sign up for either two or three of those days a week. Extended day options are currently not available but may be offered in the future based on demand.

Our À La Carte classes are scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays, 9am-5pm.

What are the ages for your program?

Our current Homeschool Hybrid cohort is ages 3 through 6 (or recently turned 7.)

Our À La Carte classes are for learners ages 3 through 13.

What is the day-to-day like in the Homeschool Hybrid program?

Our Monday-Wednesday Homeschool Hybrid program includes:

  • Consistent small group of mixed age learners to bond and learn with.
  • Ample time outdoors for both free play and exploring the natural world.
  • Opportunities and materials to explore personal interests. Current topics articulated by our learners include "things with wheels", "what astronauts wear in space", "making and playing games.”
  • Parents can drop off or stay on-site and use our co-working space.
  • New! A base of authentic Montessori activities from M3 by Multisori, a Montessori homeschool curriculum adapted to the homeschool setting. Feel free to check out their mega sample here. Be warned, it is 161 pages long but gives a nice sense of content we will be choosing from.
  • New! A dedicated 60-90 minute work cycle every morning to ensure learners are provided ample opportunity to be presented with and choose a subject area to work on daily.
  • New! Two dedicated learning guides to ensure strong and trusted relationships are built.

What is the level of commitment and refund policy?

In order for us to deliver a quality, consistent and financially sustainable program, we must anticipate a minimum level of membership revenue and incentivize families toward longer-term participation. That is why we ask each family to commit to at least six months with us and provide notice of withdrawal at least one month in advance. Your one month's deposit is applied to your last month with us. It is non-refundable if you withdraw sooner than six months or give notice less than one month in advance.

What do I need to do to secure my seat for the Homeschool Hybrid program?

In order to secure your seat for the Homeschool Hybrid program, each family is required to:

  1. Join the waitlist here
  2. Schedule a visit and meet our team here
  3. Register and submit one month’s deposit

Seats are limited and are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What if I can’t afford the cost but really love the program and want to participate?

We work hard to offer Elements Workspace at an affordable price given rent costs in NYC, livable learning guide wages, utilities, liability insurance and other operating expenses. We are a non-profit and have created this space for our own families and other like-minded folks. However, we understand that even at our lowest rates not every family can afford the full cost. If this applies to you, please get in touch; perhaps we can find a way to make it work.
